Gillas Lane Primary is proud to be part of Aim High Academy Trust from 1st October 2016.
The school is situated in Houghton-Le-Spring, approximately 7 miles from the centre of Sunderland and 5 miles from the centre of Durham. We are a successful family orientated school with large grounds and onsite Nursery provision where we cater for children of all abilities from 3 to 11 years of age.
Gillas Lane Primary provides a safe, happy, responsible and well ordered community in which all children can learn and be valued as individuals.
Our aim is to ensure that your child’s time with us is happy and successful, both academically and socially and we pride ourselves on the care and support we are able to offer to pupils and their families within our small friendly school.

Dubmire Primary Academy and Dubmire Day Care are both operated by Aim High Academy Trust. The school is a large co-educational primary academy for children of all abilities from 3 to 11 years of age. The Daycare operates provision for 0 – 3 year olds. The academy and Daycare is not affiliated to any particular religious denomination and is located within the Sunderland coalfields village of Fencehouses.
We occupy a very modern, single story building which was built and opened in 2002. The school also has extensive sports facilities, including two large halls and a 4G all-weather multipurpose games area.
The school is proud of its many sporting and artistic awards.

Newbottle Primary converted to academy status in February 2014. We are a large successful co-educational primary academy for children of all abilities from 3 to 11 years of age. The academy is not affiliated to any particular religious denomination and is located slightly south of the village of Newbottle, approximately 5 miles from the centre of Sunderland and 7 miles from the centre of Durham.
We occupy a modern, single storey building which was built and opened in 1993. The school also has an extensive forest within its grounds and offers an outdoor environment programme to all of our pupils.
The school is proud of its many sporting and artistic awards.
